AI Voice Agent for Builders:
Every Quote Request Answered

Our AI voice agent answers every call on the first ring while you're on site, takes quote requests, qualifies the job and books site surveys into your diary. It never quotes a price or a start date you haven't given it. We build it around your business and manage it every month.

Live in as little as 3 working days · Keep your number · Billed monthly, 30 days' notice

What is an AI voice agent for builders and contractors?

An AI voice agent is software that answers and makes phone calls for your business in natural, spoken conversation. It works out whether the caller wants a quote, is a customer asking about their job or is a supplier with a delivery, answers from information you have approved, books site surveys into your diary and passes anything technical to you, with a summary of the call.

Callers don't press buttons or leave voicemails. They say what they need, and the agent responds the way a well-trained office manager at a building firm would. The difference with OMH is that we set it up and run it for you: we write the script around your real calls, connect your diary and job software, and keep improving it.

How a call goes

Watch the phone. Each step lights up as the call reaches it.

  1. It listens. It hears whether it's a quote request, a survey booking, a job update or something urgent as the caller speaks.
  2. It works out the answer. It matches the request to your diary, services, area and survey rules.
  3. It replies and acts.It answers in a natural voice, books the survey or puts the call through.
  4. It reports back.Your team gets a summary of every call. Callers can interrupt or change their mind at any point.

Try it: pick a call and a tone, then listen in

A day at your firm

Calls don't arrive evenly.
Neither do the misses.

An illustrative weekday at a building firm with two teams on site. Calls go unanswered from the first start on site, over lunch and after the office closes, which is when homeowners ring about new projects.

Calls by hour, one weekday

197 calls, 97 missed (49%). Hover or tap a bar for the hour.

Illustrative figures, not data from a real business. Your phone provider's call log shows your own pattern.

  1. 07:30On site early

The team is on the tools by half seven. Suppliers and customers ring a phone in a van or a jacket pocket.

  2. 12:30Lunch on the job

Homeowners ring on their lunch break, while you're up a ladder or on the way to the merchant.

  3. 18:00After work

Homeowners plan projects in the evening. Voicemail picks up, and they ring the next builder on the list.

  4. Work out what it costs your business

Quote requests, site surveys, job updates, suppliers and the questions in between, handled the way a good office manager would. Pick a capability to see it in action. Features marked Growth and Scale aren't on Starter.

First-ring answering, 24/7

The agent

Every call answered straight away, while you're on the tools, driving between jobs or off for the weekend. No engaged tone and no voicemail.

OMH, for you

We divert your business line, set your hours and agree what it picks up and when: overflow, out of hours or every call. Nothing goes live without your sign-off.

You and your team stay in charge

You decide the rules before it answers a single call. Urgent problems on a job, such as a leak, go to the person on call you choose, never to a voicemail.

It handles

  • Quote requests and site survey bookings
  • Qualifying questions: job, budget, timescale, postcode
  • Job updates from the notes you share
  • Supplier, delivery and subcontractor messages

It hands to your team

  • Structural, technical or regulations questions
  • Complaints and disputes
  • Anyone who asks for a person
  • Questions it has no approved answer for

It never

  • Quotes a price or start date you haven't given it
  • Gives structural or building regulations advice
  • Pretends to be a person
  • Calls people who have not agreed to it

Works alongside your job software

Surveys and notes go where your team already looks. We check your setup on the first call and tell you plainly what connects directly and what needs a workaround.

Use cases

Builder use cases by type of call

A building firm gets the same eight kinds of call, day in, day out. We script your agent around each one. Pick a call to see how the agent handles it.

Quote and estimate requests01 / 08

Quote requests: details taken while the caller is keen

People ring two or three builders and go with whoever picks up. The agent takes the details for extensions, loft conversions, kitchens, bathrooms, renovations and roofing, and moves the caller on to a site survey.

  • Takes the job type, the address and the best contact details
  • Gives your guide prices only if you have set them
  • Sends you a summary of every enquiry

No prices made up.

Showing all 19 questions

Will callers know they are talking to an AI?

Yes. Every agent says it is an AI assistant at the start of the call. Callers deserve to know, and anyone who would rather speak to a person can ask.

Will it give a price or a start date over the phone?

Only figures you have given it. The agent never makes up a price, a quote or a start date. If you set guide prices, such as a starting figure for a loft conversion, it shares them as a guide and explains that a firm quote follows a site survey. Anything else goes to you.

Does it give structural or building regulations advice?

No. It never says whether a wall can come out, what a job needs to meet building regulations or whether planning permission is needed. It notes the question and passes it to you.

How does it qualify a new enquiry?

It asks the questions you set: the type of job, a rough budget, the timescale, whether plans or planning permission are in place and the postcode. Jobs outside the area you cover, or below your minimum size, get a polite answer by your rules. You get the details in a summary.

Can it book site survey visits?

Yes. It books surveys into the diary you choose, keeps to the days, areas and travel time you set, and texts the customer a confirmation. If you would rather ring back first, it takes the details for a call back instead.

What about customers asking how their job is going?

It answers from the job updates you share with it and takes a message for anything else. It never promises a finish date or a delivery time it has not been given.

Can it handle suppliers, deliveries and subcontractors?

Yes. It takes delivery times, access questions and messages from suppliers and subcontractors, and puts urgent ones through to the site lead you choose. It never agrees orders, prices or changes to a job.

What happens with snagging and aftercare calls?

It logs the issue with the address and the job it relates to, then books a visit or passes it to you, by your rules. Anything urgent, such as a leak, goes to the person on call you choose.

Can the agent put a caller through to us?

Yes, on the Growth and Scale plans. You set the rules: urgent problems on a job, complaints, technical questions and anyone who asks for a person can be put through to the right phone. Outside your hours, and on the Starter plan, the agent takes a detailed message and sends it to you.

What happens when the agent doesn't know the answer?

It says so. The agent answers only from information you have approved, so when a question falls outside that, it offers to take a message or transfer the call. We review those moments and add the answers worth adding.

Does it work with our job management software?

It works with most diaries and job management tools. We check yours on the first call and tell you plainly what connects directly and what needs a workaround.

Can we keep our phone number, or get a local one?

You can keep your number and divert calls to the agent, either all of them or only the ones you miss on site. If you want a local number for a new area, we can set one up.

How long does setup take?

Starter goes live in 3 working days, Growth in 5 to 7 and Scale in 12 to 15. The clock starts once we have your services, the area you cover, your survey rules and diary access. If your business is more complex than usual, we give you a realistic timeline after the discovery call, before you commit to anything.

Is customer data kept safe?

You remain the data controller and OMH acts as your processor under a written data processing agreement, in line with UK GDPR. We agree what is stored, where and for how long before go-live.

Are calls recorded?

Only if you want them to be. Callers are told at the start of the call, and recordings are deleted on the schedule you set.

Can it call customers back about a quote?

Only people who have agreed to be contacted, such as someone who asked you for a quote. We follow the UK PECR rules and act on opt-outs straight away; opt-outs are removed the same day. We don't run cold calling campaigns.

Will it replace our office staff?

No. It takes the calls you miss on site and the routine ones, so your team can get on with the work. You choose when it answers: only when the lines are busy, only out of hours, or first on every call. Anything technical, sensitive or complicated still comes to you.

How much does an AI voice agent cost for a builder?

Our managed AI voice agent starts at £249 a month plus VAT with 300 minutes included, and a one-off setup fee from £795. Growth is £449 a month and Scale, for firms with several offices or teams, is £849 a month. Extra minutes cost 60p each on every plan.

Is there a minimum contract?

Plans are billed monthly with 30 days' notice. We set out the terms in writing before you start, including what's included each month and what counts as extra. Every invoice shows your included minutes and any overage.
